A new concentration on the need for successful communication

The measures governments all over the world took to contain the corona virus resulted in a profound change of the way people communicate in their professional environment. Each form of encounter, online or again face-to-face, presentation or team meeting, talking to another person or sharing something with a group, hybrid events or meetings in personal presence, leadership and motivation, all this requires a new concentration on what is important, to make conversations better and successful.

  • Acknowledgement of the person you talk to
  • Invitation to join in and contribute
  • Focus on the solution, not on the problem
  • Participation and co-responsibility
  • Concentration on strengths and resources, not on weakness and failure
  • Clear-cut and unambiguous language
  • What is my point? What would others think? Who takes charge of the next steps?
  • What really works well already and how did we achieve this?
